With further reference to your letter of April
26th. 8.261/3, enclosing copy of a letter and despatch
from His Excelleney the Governor of Hong Kong, we have now
sarefully considered the new proposal for the terminal
station at Kowloon.
In our letter to you of 20th. August
last we advised that the station should be constructed on
the site of Soheme 2-A and that the land on both sites of
Sohemes 2-A and 3-B should be resumed by the Government,
This proposal was thoroughly discussed during Mr. A.J.
Barry's visit to Hong Kong and it was unanimously agreed
that the site proposed would ultimately be the best one to
adenb.
It was, however, considered that for some time,
until the traffic developes, a temporary atation with one
platform would be sufficient to meet the requirements and
it was anggested that this temporary station should be
placed on the site of Scheme 3-B, but that the disposition
of the rails at the aurve and erossing of Des Voeux Road
1.
